Native American languages don't exactly belong under one single linguistic umbrella. Rather, they are classified in 20-30 separate groups according to Native Languages of the Americas. 25 million native speakers for the most part speak the languages of Central and South America while nearly 500,000 native speakers exist in the U.S. and Canada.
